After graduating from high school in Drasco Arkansas, I began teaching myself everything I could in order to open up opportunities in the work place and advance my own career. Eventually, I worked for 30
years in Insurance and during the process earned my CIC
certificate at OSU.
I taught myself shorthand and eventually
taught at Oklahoma School of Accounting and Tulsa Business College.
I was President of the Insurance Women of Tulsa and Conference Chairman
for a regional conference held in Tulsa in 1987 hosting 350 Insurance
Women from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
I've raised two sons
and have 3 grandsons, 3 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 1 great, great granddaughter. I was happily married
for 55 years until Mouzon's 9 year battle with Alzheimers ended in 2005 with his passing.
After retiring and before moving from Oklahoma to Texas, I stayed busy volunteering. I served as
President of the High Noon Sertoma Club and as Chairman of the board.
Through High Noon I was introduced to the Little Light House for which
I was honored as The Sertoman of the Year from the local club and
the Pearl M. and Julia J. Harmon Foundation Award.
